Berber tribes and city people alike have been using and meticulously weaving for centuries. Women have the power of life over a textile, metaphorically giving it life. In the Atlas mountains the Berber women weave to produce beautiful shawls, blankets, fabric wall-coverings and rugs preserving ancient techniques. The designs are inspired by ancient symbols telling of the history of the tribe or the expression of the weaver-s daily preoccupations and superstitions.
